Love and Desire

I wish love and desire could live harmoniously; that I could dissect the bitter tidings of longing from the sweet comfort of belonging. Because desire cannot exist without the need for more than you have. Because love requires accepting what you already have. Because this dismantling paradox encourages a stream of conflicting insecurities that dominate my judgement.

Before the sun starts to shine, morning hours stretch and lag. The skies a cruet of frosted wine, sweet enough to make me gag.

Sometimes when you let your mind wander, you get pulled into imagining hypothetical conversations with people in your past to try and make sense of issues that have deeply impacted you… And sometimes you realize you’ve been having an imaginary debate in your head for fifteen minutes about recognizing the difference between taupe and beige. Brains are weird.

We just had the craziest hit and run over the weekend. A cop was pounding on our door at 3am; turns out someone crashed into and completely totaled three cars (two of them belonging to my roommates). We have no leads, so I guess my roomies are just kind of screwed for right now. And one of them is a delivery driver, so...

What are your summer plans?

My summer plans aren’t quite formed yet, but I would really like to go back to Colorado… Do some hiking. I also want to visit Seattle. I have never been there and I’m getting a bit annoyed because people keep telling me how much I would love it. I’ll also hopefully be learning to ride a motorcycle this summer, but we shall see! :)
