This little one gave me SO much trouble. I guess that’s what foxes do 😂. If you didn’t know #Ninetales is one of my absolute favorite #Pokémon and once I saw the #spaceworld1997 demo leak I knew this was my favorite mon that got cut. I’ve never loved #vulpix and I wish with all my heart that #mikon or #trifox or #babyvulpix hadn’t gotten #scrapped
So what had happened with this piece was... it basically became my last attempt at #watercolorpencils .I loved the sketch of this that I did and then when I went to put the water to the color... well as you can see the last image here was the result. So I used a picture of it I had taken and redid it all on #procreate .Then finding a good #watercolor brush and learning how to use it was another challenge.
In the end, I love how it came out! I wanted it to almost be ghost-like and I imagine that it doesn’t have any hind legs but just the 3 tails. In the 3 tails I wanted to you to see the 3 trails of fire underneath. My least favorite thing about the Ninetales line is the separation of its hair from its head so I only made a color separation. I wanted it to be a little more orange then vulpix but still keep some brown. Then I spontaneously added a little smoke on the tips of its hair for a little more character!
