tfw uncle goes off the deep-end and decides that he needs a big climactic set piece for your family drama instead of being the grounded villain you were promised 🙄
#eso#maggie tyrne#bacaro volorus#honestly the whole 'i am the rightful heir to the throne of the druid king' thing is honestly funnier#when playing as his older sister's firstborn like bitch your own rules of inheritance disagree with that#i'm trying to figure out how to write bacaro into my canon and how his relation to maggie influences him#in addition to the war-induced ptsd and entitlement as a noble#ignorant benevolence being transformed into hate and greed and a desire for power to put things right#which is then exercised in the worst most destructive ways possible#claiming a heritage so far removed from you that you can only claim connection through blood rather than lived experience#and just a general sense of entitlement derived from being noble#i kinda love the idea of maggie having to grapple with this aspect of her own heritage. much as she tries to avoid acknowledging it#because whether she likes it or not she's always going to be viewed through that lens of nobility when its known#when she was a thief in daggerfall she really was just a nobody#and going through glenumbra she was still just the one who happened to save casimir's life#he didn't know who she was when he appointed her to be his agent in the fight against angof#but stormhaven was where she picked up traction and was recognised fairly often because everyone remembers gerard and his brat#and she never really got to go back to being nobody#and high isle especially doesn't let her just be nobody#still i don't think i'll keep the 'bacaro fused with the spirit' thing in my canon because that was just an excuse to make him big#and throw fire everywhere#like the spirit escaping its binds can stay but he's just a guy with an out of check ego#and maggie is there to get the high ground on his arse
