Might as well, here are two of the Baccano! drawings I originally did for Inktober.

Anyway, here is, finally, the final&colored version of Baccano’s Funniest Couple™ that in some ways should be a love goal for everyone. Love them so much!

Semi-realistic portraits of Baccano! characters, as drawn by Enami on his now-defunct official website. Well, all except Ennis are semi-realistic. I couldn’t actually pull these directly from his website himself since there seems to be some sort of weird restriction on it in the Wayback Machine (though the one page that you can see includes Luck’s portrait amongst others) - I salvaged these from an also now-defunct Baccano! fansite (through Wayback Machine, bless it). 

(I have no idea what’s going on with Enami’s website and the Wayback Machine but I have to assume there’s some sort of copyright or region-blocking or trickery going on since the one visible page has a ‘stamp’ on it that reflects the date and time you tried to access it. I think the stamp is Chinese in origin, but I’m not sure. It’s really weird and it’s never happened to me before with Wayback Machine sites). 

The fansite also included the following portrait among the above drawings, which they tentatively labelled “Claire in true mafia style…?” I’m not sure if they were quoting a caption from Enami or if that was their best guess, but I’ll include it below the cut so you can see (and decide) for yourself. The shape of the head doesn’t look too much like Claire to me. Still, at the very least it’s a nice face and a nice portrait.

Jacuzzi and Nice for what has become a Swing!AU

Basically, it all started with Isaac and Miria who proposed to take dance lessons because they thought it could have been fun. Nice encouraged Jacuzzi to accept and go because she thought it could have been a boost to his confidence and here they are, sweet and having fun. My babies ❤ 

(Also, Nice is having a hella lot of fun. Don’t take from her the dance lessons)

Third couple for the Swing!AU! This time Chane and Claire/Felix/Vino/whatever

How did they come at those swing lessons? All Claire’s fault: it was a perfect excuse to bond with Chane and she actually enjoys do a different type of dance with him (even if she still blushes a lot)

Some now-unopenable Baccano! doodles by Enami, done back when the anime was airing. 

First row: (1) Pezzo with his oil can, splashing oil on Szilard | (2) Randy flinging a burning match at Szilard.

Second row: (1) Vicky aiming a finger-gun at Rachel as he passes | (2) Vicky, cheerful, wins the straw draw and skips off to kill people; in the background, an extremely grumpy Ladd’s bloodlust level approaches the max limit.

Today is December 26, 2017, and marks the ten year anniversary of when Enami Katsumi uploaded the drawing of Ladd Russo on the far left as promotional material for the release of Volume 3 of the original Baccano! JP DVD set on December 26, 2007. The other two drawings are promotional material for Vol 7 (featuring Graham and Shaft, shared April 17, 2008 the week before DVD Vol 7 went on sale) and  for Vol 08 (featuring Graham and Ladd, shared May 28, 2008). Technically the drawing for DVD Vol 8 seems to be a line drawing for the conclusion of 1934, but the post he shared it was also promoting DVD Vol 8. So.

I think (esp. from the DVD Vol 3 text) I’m getting the feeling that Enami’s a fan of Shaft, as well as Graham. Below the cut are Enami’s comments from each blog entry (untranslated, because I don’t have the ability to translate them myself).

あ、今回のDVDはラッドじゃなかった。 そういえば、成田君も書いてたので僕も書いちゃうんですが、僕もシャフトの設定をすでに見せてもらっております。 こういう奴だったのかーとニヤニヤしてます。 まだ色はついていなかったので、早く色がついて動く姿を見てみたいですねー。 ああ、仕方がないとはいえバッカーノ設定資料集にグラハムとシャフトが載ってないのは残念ですねー。

バッカーノ！7巻がもうじき発売です。 なによりかによりとにかくニース！ お楽しみに(笑）

And the last one:

バッカーノ！のDVD8巻（最終巻）が本日発売です。 よろしくお願いしますー。 ちなみに上の絵は1934完結編の線画。 今はこれまでにないほど忙しくて新規のラクガキは何も用意できませんでした。 1934完結編の表紙の絵はパズル状の完成版以外に表紙に載ってる全キャラの肩までのカラー絵があったんですよ。編集部には存在してます。 この二人は特に顔の一部しか出てなかったかもですね(笑） 完成絵は提出原稿なのでお見せは出来ないのですが、まあラフくらいはと。 アニメ以降のお話も小説では続いておりますので、みなさんこれからもバッカーノ！や成田君のほかの作品をよろしくお願いします。 ついでにスターオーシャン4の情報なども追っていただけたらと。 よろしく(笑）

弾避けシャーネに手を加えてステップシャーネに。 今更ですが、「バッカーノ！2002　B-side」発売中です。 よろしければ買ってくださいー。 今年は１４冊の文庫に関わらせていただきました。 仕事をくださった関係者の皆様ありがとうございましたー。 小説を買ってくださった皆さんもありがとうございましたー。 『BACCANO！DVD1～4巻すべてをご購入のお客様にキャストや原作の成田先生ほか制作スタッフが出演する「BACCANO!プレミアムDJCD」（非売品）をプレゼント！』 のプレミアムDJCDジャケット描きました。 以前発売されたドラマCDに付いていた特典小説のシャーネのドレス姿のように、このジャケットでしか見られないかもな服装のあの人たちです。誰だ？
