Do Not Sit There
So at my store we have 'back' lobby and 'front' lobby. We close lobby at 11 every day, and most days we close off back lobby to get it cleaned up at around 8ish. Sometimes earlier if it's been slow, later if it's been busy.
It's been about standard, and I have time, so I close off back lobby by putting the high chairs and a wet floor sign in the narrowish passage way between it and front lobby. Someone would either have to step over the sign (which is difficult, I can barely do that and I'm tall with long legs), or move things out of the way.
But...that doesn't stop people. Customers will come in and sit down in back lobby, despite everything in the way. If I can I tell them that back lobby is closed for cleaning, but I can't always get to them in time.
You'd think they'd be smart enough to figure it out, or at least ask someone about it.
Heck, we use to have this heavy metal sign that read "This part of lobby is closed for cleaning."
STILL didn't stop some people.
And this one night, this guy just moves everything out of the way, leaving it open and forcing me to fix it, and then when he finishes, just leaves his tray and trash where he was sitting.
Really, really rude.
