Back to Brielle ~ OPEN
It was time to come back to reality instead of letting her head stay up in the clouds from her vacation in Cancun, Mexico. But honestly, it was great to be back at Brielle for Piper. She felt so out of her element in Cancun that the idea of just relaxing and not thinking about work had her more on edge then she would have cared to admit. Clearly the intern hadn’t had a vacation a day in her life that relaxing wasn’t exactly something she fell into naturally. It would have been wonderful if she as able to let loose like many of the others had been able to do and just enjoy herself and have a good time. But the copper haired intern found herself struggling to do even the simplest of things it seemed. Honestly, how sad was that? She truly was some sort of introverted control freak it seemed.
Being back at the institute felt more homely and she felt more relaxed as strange as it sounded. This was an environment the intern was more comfortable in. Usually people would feel a form of stress when they were at work, but not Piper. Her work made her feel at ease. For this work she did didn’t even feel like a job which is what she very much enjoyed. The beauty didn’t even need to think about how she should act and put up a front - well, sort of. When she was at work Piper had to bite her tongue back a bit and put on her people friendly face. Cancun was different however. There were a number of things Piper did which were a first. Some would probably look at her wide eyed with skepticism that the things she did were a first. Such as gathering around a group of people in front of a camp fire and having s’mores. Or even hosting karaoke, giving someone a massage and playing spin the bottle. All of this was NEW and a first for the crimson haired intern. Sad wasn’t it? It just went ahead and showed her that she really didn’t have a social life. In ways Piper felt like she had to put up more of a front because she was around her staff members. However considering all the drinks they had, things could be fuzzy to them all. Piper had definitely had more then her fair share of alcoholic drinks considering she wasn’t much of a drinker. The most she drank was maybe a glass of wine in the evening after a hard days work; or because she just had the craving.
Some of the activates she chose to partake in forced her to make some awkward first impressions with people she was hardly even on a first names basis with. Needless to say as the minutes ticked by Piper couldn’t wait to get away from Mexico and back to Brielle. She was honestly rather grateful for the opportunity to join on such a vacation with everyone in Brielle and Cancun was certainly amazing. But it just wasn’t for Piper. The environment for her was just too much for the intern to handle. Maybe if she went by herself it would be more bearable, but at least she got to know a few more people she worked with. And she honestly did try to make a good impression and let loose as best she could. So whether or not that even mattered now, time would only tell.
Everyone’s flights had gotten back rather late last night and yet they were all still expected to show up for work the following day. This was probably the one time Piper wished she could have skipped out on coming into work today because she was dead tired from the lack of sleep. Anyone who could sleep on a plane was certainly lucky. But not Piper. And as such, her head was planted firmly on her desk with her arms acting as a pillow to cushion her. Her fiery long locks cascaded around her back and desk while she was taking a little snooze on the job. The intern was trying her hardest to stay awake but it was a definite struggle. Thank god her door was shut, for she couldn’t imagine someone just walking by and seeing her passed out like a drunk - not that she was drunk.
There was a rapture of someone’s knuckles beating against her door suddenly, thus stirring her quickly awake.
“Who is it?”
She questioned in a bit of a groggy tone of voice through the other side of the closed door, her eyes clearly heavy and struggling to stay open.
