My friend asked me about my process for my most recent piece. I had a ton of fun making the background, so I thought this was the easiest way to go through it. Biggest TLDR: use the lasso and rectangle select tools + fill tool to make shapes, maybe edit them with free transform, then add texture with nice brushes. (Consider downloading some non-default ones; I recommend DAUB.)

The window in the “guide” is a very quick/different version from the one in the piece, but the process is the same. As the last step, I also edited the tone curve of the widow to make it more vibrant. (You can see the difference in the final version vs the last image here.) Thanks for reading~
