As far as I can tell Mature is third base or implied sex. Penetration, description of genitalia and so on is Explicit. The smut prompt in your Collection series comes under this. There's also a bit of a grey area regarding handjobs and the such. Then again, ao3's FAQ says "creators can use their artistic judgment about what ratings and/or warnings, if any, ought to be on a fanwork." So as long as you explain what level of descriptiveness you'll be going into in your notes, I think you'll be fine

yeah, I read the FAQ but that’s not necessarily how I see people using the ratings. And maybe I need to cool it a little lol. Because to me, implied sex (but no actual description of it) is still T, because you can see that on daytime television. 

But you’re right, some of my stuff should probably be E? But I’ve seen worse stuff labeled M so idk. I was curious as to whether a certain act made it definitely E. Or if you hit the quota of handjobs or whatever. LMAO
