Eccomi qui per raccontarvi la mia avventura nel Regno Unito, a Londra. Appena terminata la sessione di esami all’università, sono fuggita (lol)… sono partita lunedì mattina presto e tornata giovedì sera tardi, quindi, considerando anche il fatto che il volo è veramente breve, ho avuto tutti e 4 i giorni a disposizione.

Ho alloggiato a casa di un’amica, in una bellissima zona residenziale, Chiswick, ad ovest di Londra: molto tranquilla, sicura, ma anche piena di negozi di ogni genere, ristornati, bar, ogni tipo di servizio necessario e ben servita da mezzi pubblici.

Il primo giorno, ho subito vestito i panni del turista; ci siamo fiondate a Buckingham Palace, e dintorni, al Big Ben e London Eye, al New Scotland Yard, Trafalgar Square e alla National Gallery, a Leicester Square, Soho e Piccadilly Circus. Sono tutte attrazioni tipicamente turistiche, ma assolutamente da vedere! Buckingham Palace è indubbiamente uno degli emblemi della città di Londra, con i suoi cancelli altissimi e decoratissimi, e le guardie caratteristiche (abbiamo anche avuto la fortuna di capitare proprio nel bel mezzo del famoso cambio della guardia). Il Big Ben e il London Eye, due dei simboli che meglio rappresentano la città; purtroppo non sono salita sull’imponente ruota panoramica a causa della mia paura delle altezze. New Scotland Yard, per tutti gli appassionati di crimine. Trafalgar Square e la National Gallery sono entrambe un must-see e perché non approfittare del fatto che tutti i musei statali sono gratuiti? E ancora, Leicester Square, Soho e Piccadilly Circus che costituiscono praticamente il centro della città; sorprendentemente, il centro città non era molto caotico e non troppo affollato; ci sono un sacco di cose da fare e da vedere, una delle mie preferite (e voi che mi seguite le mie instagram stories già lo saprete) è stato l’enorme negozio delle m&m lol. La prima visita al centro di Londra è stata abbastanza breve, ho avuto modo nei giorni seguenti di vederlo meglio e soprattutto viverla più a pieno.

Il secondo giorno, la mattina, abbiamo fatto una passeggiata per Hyde Park, con pausa pranzo in un locale favoloso sul lago: il locale si chiama Serpentine Bar & Kitchen, è un locale molto à la main ma con una vista mozzafiato! Consiglio a tutti di farci un passo, per colazione, pranzo o cena! Dopo Hyde Park, abbiamo passato il pomeriggio alla Tate Modern. Beh che dire, io adoro l’arte, specialmente l’arte moderna, e ritengo che sia una galleria che vale assolutamente la pena vedere, anche per coloro che non sono appassionati di arte. Usciti dalla Tate Modern, abbiamo attraversato il Millennium Bridge, con una vista fantastica del Tower Bridge, in direzione della St. Paul’s Cathedral, per poi prendere la metro fino alla stazione ferroviaria di King’s Cross, indovinate perché? Sono una grandissima fan di Harry Potter e non potevo assolutamente non vedere il binario 9¾ (e sì, anche spendere quasi 20 in souvenir). La sera sono tornata in centro ed ho fatto sosta a due dei numerosi casinò della zona. Grazie a questa esperienza londinese, ho anche imparato alcune cose sul mondo dei casinò, fino ad allora a me sconosciuto (d’altronde come avrei potuto non imparare niente essendo stata ospitata in una casa di croupier? Lol).

Il giorno 3, mi sono immersa nel mondo di Camden Town…wow! Anche questa è stata etichettata (da me) come tappa immancabile del vostro tour per la città di Londra: è un posto molto caratteristico, quasi non riesco a descriverlo…non resta che visitarlo! La sera poi abbiamo fatto un aperitivo all’italiana in centro città, tra tutti sicuramente il migliore. Il posto che abbiamo scelto è Fratelli la Bufala: vino e cibo top, personale cordialissimo e italianissimo!

L’ultimo giorno, ho visitato Notting Hill, un altro quartiere tipico, specialmente per gli amanti del film. A differenza degli altri giorni, durante i quali, fortunatamente, il clima era molto buono, l’ultimo giorno faceva molto freddo, perciò non abbiamo girato molto; dopo pranzo siamo rientrate per gli ultimi preparativi pre-ritorno in Italia.

Insomma, è stata una vacanza bellissima, soprattutto per il fatto che ho conosciuto persone fantastiche che spero di rivedere molto molto presto, mi hanno fatto sentire a casa e sono stati tutti super disponibili ad assecondare ogni mio vizio e capriccio! GRAZIE DI TUTTO RAGAZZI!

Here I am to tell you about my adventure in the UK, in London. As soon as my exams at university were over, I fled (lol)… I left early on Monday morning and came home on Thursday, late evening, so, considering also that the flight is very short, I had the entire 4 days to enjoy myself. I stayed at my friend’s house, in a lovely residential area, Chiswick, west London: a very quiet and safe area, but also full of shops, restaurants, cafés, all the services required and with an excellent public transportation system.

On day 1, I right away played the part of the tourist; we went to Buckingham Palace, and surroundings, to the Big Ben and London Eye, to the New Scotland Yard, Trafalgar Square and National Gallery, to Leicester Square, Soho and Piccadilly Circus.

These are all typical touristic attractions, but are absolutely a must-see!

Buckingham Palace is with no doubts one of the symbols of the city of London, with its high gates and decorations, and the characteristics guards (we were also lucky enough to see the famous changing of the guard). The Big Ben and the London Eye, other two of the symbols that better represent the city; unfortunately I didn’t go on the London high because of my fear of heights. New Scotland Yard for all of you crime passionate. Trafalgar Square and National Gallery, both a must-see and why not profit from the fact that all national museums are free? And also, Leicester Square, Soho and Piccadilly Circus that form the centre of the city; surprisingly, the city centre was not very busy and caothic; there are many things to do and to see, one of my favourite (and those who follow my instagram stories will know it already) was the huge m&m shop lol. The first tour of the centre of London was quite quick, but I found time to see it better and live it more in the followings days.

On day 2, in the morning, we went for a walk in Hyde Park, with a lunch break in a fabulous restaurant on the lake: I’m talking about the Serpentine Bar & Kitchen, it’s a very down to earth place but with a breath taking view! I strongly recommend to have breakfast, lunch or dinner at this restaurant when in London! After Hyde Park, we spent the afternoon at the Tate Modern Gallery. Well, what to say, I love art, especially modern art, and I think that this galley is absolutely wroth seeing, also by those who are not artistic people. After that, we crossed the Millennium Bridge, with a great view of the Tower Bridge, towards St. Paul’s Cathedral, to take the underground for King’s Cross railway station, guess why? I’m a huge Harry Potter fan and I couldn’t leave without having seeing the famous platform 9¾ (and spend almost 20 in souvenirs). That night, I went back to the city centre and visited two of the many casinos. Thanks to this Londoner experience, I also learned some things about casinos (I knew almost nothing before then and how could I not learn something since I stayed in house of dealers? Lol.)

On day 3, I jumped into the Camden Town world…wow! Also this destination is (according to my opinion) an inevitable stop of the London tour: it’s a very characteristic place, I can hardly describe it…I guess you have to see it! In the evening, we went for an Italian “aperitivo” in the city centre, the best one. The bar we chose was Fratelli la Bufala: top quality food and wine, friendly staff and 100% Italian!

On my last day, I visited Notting Hill, another typical neighbourhood, especially for those who love the movie. Unlike the days before, when the weather and temperatures were perfect, on the last day it was very cold, so we didn’t see much; after lunch we went back home for my last-minute arrangements for my trip back to Italy.

It has been a wonderful holiday, most of all for the fact that I met some fantastic people that I hope to see again very very soon, they made me feel like home and they were all super accommodating also with my every wish! THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS!
