The La Purisima Concepcion de la Virgen Maria Parish Church or we simply know as Baclayon Church was built in 1596, it is considered as the oldest church in Bohol. Its majestic facade leads to an undeniably stunning interior which includes a gold-plated altar and an assortment of centuries-old religious images and artifacts. Founded by the Jesuit priest Juan de Torres and Gabriel Sánchez in 1596, and became the oldest Christian settlement in Bohol.
