So if your sole motivating factor for creating for a Fandom is your ability to squeeze money out of them, you ARE, in fact, a shitty person.
We aren't your fucking customers. Some of us aren't even EA's customers.
This space has thrived on free sharing since probably before you were born, yet here you are, trying to weasel your way in and grift a few bucks. If you're gonna scream and cry about losing your motivation when we do exactly what this Fandom has been doing since it's inception, then yes, you should leave. Take your shittt attitude and lazy mesh edits and go cry to somebody who cares, because we ain't here for it.
All this witchy, werewolfy, Halloweeny in general cc getting locked until the 30th or even later....
God you guys just do not care about the people who cannot afford to throw money at every single patreon they come across, do you? Fucking selfish as hell. I shouldn't be surprised but here I am, wishing 2022 was different than the last 2 years I've been on here and if anything it's WORSE.
Ea re-allowing early access was a mistake.
It's time. If you have stuff hidden behind permanent pay walls, require paying patrons to contact you for the content they paid for, if you use ad redirects or upload to simfinds/simsdom -- this is your wake-up call.
Make your cc free, now. Show you appreciate the people who love and download your content.
Because while you don't owe your audience anything, you owe everything to your audience.
So anyway @cowbuild is trash and showed her colors today in spectacular fashion, and if you still support her unfollow me right now because I don’t need your support if you think what she does is okay.
Not only does she put every user who downloads from her at risk, but now she’s breaking the law and putting someone’s life and livelihood at stake. And honey, the pixels just aren’t worth all that. She’ll do it to you just as easily as she did it before. She can’t help herself.
I’m not normally one for callouts but this has gone too far and I’m mad as hell.
Stating it separately because i don’t want it to seem like a pile-on but no, I’m not going to be nice about it
You should not have to be told that selling something you did not create is wrong.
Every single week it comes back around and I’m bloody sick of it. I literally could not care less what effort it took to rip/convert/re-mesh it, if it is NOT YOUR INITIAL CREATION, IT DOESN’T BELONG TO YOU.
Yes, that includes ripping assets from other games. It includes 3D models for sale elsewhere. It includes conversions from other Sims games. These things are not yours and you do not get to charge a dime. Stop being greedy.
Back to ACNH I’m so steamed.
Let this be a lesson: if you don’t put any kind of indication in your file names, item descriptions, or even a mesh watermark (which I’ve seen!), and your item winds up getting reuploaded, you don’t then get to scream for credit for something you didn’t care enough to mark as yours to begin with.
Put your url in your filenames, people.
