I have a question about the butterfly bet, in this case, Kiba talked about it in the last chapter, but does this bet really exist or did he invent it? And if this really exists, is it circulating at school? If it's really true, I'm not prepared for when Hinata finds out that she's seen that way by school :(

The UCP government is moving to take control of citizens’ savings — and they should be very worried.

As part of the Fair Deal Panel that Jason Kenney announced on Nov. 9 to "advance our vital economic interests," the repatriation of nearly $40 billion in Canada Pension Plan assets will be explored. Those assets would also be handed over to AIMCo, and they could be an irresistible target for an oil and gas industry that is struggling to attract investment — and a government that clearly wants to help it do just that.

Kenney has clearly signalled his willingness to increase public financing for private oil and gas companies on a vastly larger scale. Last April he committed $7.5 billion in provincial funds to completing the Keystone XL pipeline because TC Energy could not access private equity for the contentious project, a move he boasted was “a solid bet.” International finance experts disagreed, calling the investment an “idiotic waste.”

TC Energy stock has dropped 16 per cent since Alberta pensioners became majority owners in what could be a money-losing climate killer.

Meredith had been settled and comfortable- well, as comforting as a stab wound could be- in her room for about an hour or so. Mostly, she felt a little bit fuzzy from painkillers, general anesthetics, and blood loss. According to the deal she and Sylar worked out, she was obligated to tell him about this, but she dreaded him showing up, to some degree.

Jenny would be back soon, so she didn’t worry too much.

She just was afraid of being scolded. Granted, right now was probably about the best time to be scolded. Meredith lay back, and tried to take shallow breaths as not to irritate her side or the new stitches that adorned it. All she knew for sure is that heavy drinking was off limits for a while yet.

“Hey,” She said meekly when she heard someone walk into the room. Peeking with one eye, she confirmed it was Sylar. “Hey,” she said again.

The Decline and Fall of MySpace

With all the press over the betting associated with the Royal wedding, here’s one bet that has nothing to do with Buckingham Palace that went dreadfully wrong. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Rupert Murdoch has put MySpace up for sale at a $100 million. He paid $580 million for it in 2005 and was hailed as a visionary. A somewhat cynical article in Fortune magazine in early 2010 announced that “Web 2.0: the party’s over” and that newcomer FourSquare might be overpriced at $100 million (though that number shot up over the past year). Perhaps, but that may be a little simplistic - the party may not have ended, but simply moved to the street as one big block-party (new apps,  location services, and the like).

But clearly, the visionary purchase did not work out as Zuckerberg's baby grew astronomically and other sites stagnated or declined in total users. MySpace slashed its staff, closed offices, reinvented itself and watched as 9 million users fled to other sites (mostly Facebook). There’s a host of reasons for this, from a cluttered design to Murdoch turning his attention to an old style media acquisition, the Wall Street Journal. And as the New York Times pointed out in February, moving MySpace headquarters from a thriving neighborhood in Santa Monica to a Beverly Hills office building where employees left for dinner and didn’t return until the next day may have played a role. But in the end, the maven of MySpace with her 3.7 million followers, Tila Tequila, summed it up best of all – "it’s not simple anymore." MySpace focused on money and Facebook on the user experience and we know who won.
