Noctis recognised the meaning in the man’s tone. He was giving him the chance to apologise and take back his comment. If Noct had been a few years younger, the man’s tone would have had him backing down in an instant.
As it was, Noctis was frustrated.
He had teachers complaining about homework that didn’t get handed in. He had Ignis complaining about his lack of interest in his duty as Prince and Gladio about him slacking off in training.
Now his dad was calling him out on all three and it was enough to make him snap.
“Don’t give me that crap. You heard me just fine so don’t fuckin’ patronise me.”
