Esperanza Valdez’s last smile was given to her son. When was the last time she smiled at Rosa, or any other family members? Probably months prior to her death date. And, yet, she smiled at Leo and gave him hugs and kisses EVERY DAY. Rosa might’ve kicked Leo out of the family because she was jealous of him. He’d gotten her sister’s last kiss, last hug, last SMILE. And instead of taking in her nephew like her sister would’ve approved of, Rosa yelled and threw a hissy fit that Esperanza wouldn’t approve of and kicked Leo out of the Valdez family.
