Time is the cell I'm living in
Rent is good, but the light gets in
I see you in my dreams again
So I'm sleeping in, I'm sleeping in
Cause I had a love but I lost it
I was cruel and cried like a faucet, yeah
I need you so I'll keep my promise
I'll be what you wanted
Whatever you want me to be
I lost myself a long way back
I'd leave it all if you love me back
The sweetest sound to echo back
Say after all, you love me back
Diggin’
Bad Bad Hats - Psychic Reader 1 and 1/2 Thumps Up
So this genre is like one of my weird soft spots. I don’t know why. Indie feminine semi punk, semi angry rock just like perfectly encapsulates my feminine side. I also fall victim to liking music specifically because of the mood or spiritual state I’m currently in. I don’t think that is the case with this album though. It was really good. It just has a good range inside of the genre.
Joseph is probably the first song on the album that really caught my eye. It’s just so poppy and fun and dancy. Like it makes me want to dance in the shower. The album really gets tied together with Things We Never Say though. It’s the sort of song you can drown in. It makes me want to make eye contact with a really soft spoken, emotionally mature person from across a crowded room. It makes me want to fall in love with someone I can be quiet and soft with. I don’t know. It just bangs. It’s so funny. I’ve listened to over 300 albums this year and I always have so much to say about them but I really don’t have much to say about this one. It’s just great. Could have gone a little heavier at times. It ran into the same problem all of the albums in this genre run into though: lots of the songs sound the same. It’s good though. Going to listen to it again at some point I imagine. Probably when I’m feeling quiet and feminine.
