There is no heavier heart than mine right now, knowing that this is the last weekend of the Governor's Island Art Fair. It's been an incredible run, as always-- a really solid year of artwork all around, nestled in and around the gorgeous decay of Colonel's Row in the middle of ineffable, cheerfully gloomy, irreplaceable Governor's Island. Come this weekend: come see me and "Standard Issue", come see all of the scores of artists who have poured their heart and soul into a site-specific moment out of time, come commune with the ghosts of New York past and say goodbye to the Island as it is now before redevelopment changes it for the few remaining decades it has left before the river swallows it up. My deepest, most heartfelt thanks and love to @4heads_nyc, without whom neither the fair nor the "party" would exist. And thanks to every face, familiar or new, who has come to take part in my shrine to anxiety and compulsion and effort in the face of sure destruction. It's been a really intense month and words fail to articulate my gratitude. #giaf2018 #governorsislandartfair #climatechange #dyingcity #redevelopment #gentrification #coldwar #installation #firstaidkits #badbunker https://www.instagram.com/p/BoRcYcHhzvj/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=eryjzo9bmvr3
