🌿 Night Watch | Badgers in the Green Fields of Appledore 🦡

In between my photography projects, I’ve been documenting the hidden wildlife that shares our landscapes. This short observation of a badger in the fields around Appledore is part of ongoing work with the Badger Trust – helping to raise awareness of their presence and the importance of protecting these ancient pathways.

So often, these creatures remain unseen, quietly shaping the ecology of our countryside. Through photography and film, my aim is to bring them into view – reminding us that the green fields aren’t empty, but alive with stories.

The badger has been blessed with various names over the centuries; ‘badger’ is relatively recent, traced back to 1523. Some say it comes from the french word ‘becheur’, which means ‘a digger’. #canthecull Day 29 of #sophys30badgers The Government granted permission for Badgers to be culled in parts of Southern Britain because it is believed there is a link between badgers carrying TB (tuberculosis) and infecting cattle with it. For which there is very little evidence to support this claim. Ban Fox Hunting ooh, then introduce Badger culling! No! Stop killing Badgers and other animals, trees & plants because we'll have none left eventually...
