Secret: Anthony is extremely depressed. He’s been struggling with depression since he was ten. At first, he really didn’t know what was wrong with him for a while. What ten year old does? After he was diagnosed at fifteen, he’s kept it under wraps. In the meantime, he’s learned that there’s nothing wrong with him. That even though he may be feeling this, it’s not his fault.

College was not in the cards for Ant after he graduated high school. He had huge hopes of becoming an animation designer. It turns out, no one really wanted someone who didn’t have a degree, no matter how talented he happened to be. Ant was at a loss and took up a job as a cashier by day and waiter at night. That was when he made the decision that he wanted more in life. He wanted something that he would look forward to doing. That’s when he decided to apply to Lima University.

Even though he went to college a bit later than normal, he still didn’t know what he wanted to do. He wanted something stable and steady even though art was a passion of his. He convinced himself that he could always do that on the side if he really wanted to. Instead, he would strive for a B.S. in Criminal Justice.

Ant has been struggling with depression ever since his mom died. It was hard to cope as a child and to fully understand what happened. And the fact that he kept it all bottled up didn’t help. Sometimes he has a hard time just simply getting out of bed. Sometimes he isn’t in the mood to talk to someone. Sometimes he feels guilty about the whole situation. Sometimes he feels anxious. But telling anyone about it would make him seem vulnerable and he just couldn’t have that.

He used to be an awfully resentful child growing up after his mom died. He didn’t want to play with other kids and thought that he was extremely better than everyone else. However, his attitude changed in high school after he had a huge wake-up call after being forced to volunteer within the community due to his behavior. He met a twelve-year-old who was a lot worse off than he was, and the pair has stayed in touch ever since. Now, he’s a lot nicer than he was. Except if you get under his skin, once his patience is gone, there’s no going back.

A lot of things go right over Ant’s head. For some reason his naivety has caught up with him. It’s not like he’s totally innocent nowadays but he just doesn’t catch on when someone’s flirting with him or saying one thing and meaning another. He just doesn’t put two and two together.

Many things have changed for Ant in the past year. For one, his girlfriend is pregnant. Him and Clementine Rose have been together then not together and finally together again. He really does love her, he just has had commitment issues in the past. Most of the time he feels like he doesn’t deserve her.
