Abe the Harper Arcane Trickster
This was a HeroForge TTS miniature that I exported and rebuilt for 3d printing. The player was in our DnD game back in 2020 when we started but has since moved on to very sophisticated things. Our Dungeon Master had a set of characters made up for us as a Christmas present early on, and, years later (even after Abe's player moved on to more sophisticated things) I converted the whole party and got someone to 3d print them. I've detailed the provenance of the model to explain why ... why he's at 28mm scale instead of the usual 36mm HeroForge seems to use. He's homemade.
He's also a bit blocky because this isn't a proper HeroForge STL. I'm sure that the "real" ones are smoother.
I didn't plan much of this beyond the bow and the blue feathers. I'd conceived of this rascal as a crow with blue-tipped feathers - but - found this scheme more exciting as I was painting. I'm growing more and more comfortable with just slapping contrast paint onto details I CBA to deal with - like the bow - and am starting to eye up more colours.
The only bad bit ... was the terracotta paint on the hands, face, and ankles. I think that my bottle might have curdled - just like my orange. The consistency seems to be mostly greasy medium with some actual paint in the bottom. When applied, this concoction seems to be glossy with no coverage - yuck.
I also "started" on "The Woman with the Handbag" as a sort of grisaille model.
I'm going to build up a screaming "Sugar Candy Miniatures / Neo Pets Haunted Forest" bag and give the model a box of popcorn.
