Gabriel Rodriguez was born into a higher-end family in Venezuela. When he was about five, his family was killed by a vampire hunter and made him fled to South Korea, in hopes that he had some kind of family there. Once he arrived to the orphanage, he was about nine years old and told that he was left when his family headed to America. Thanks to his powers, they believed him and added him to the system.

One day, Gabriel was playing in the yard when he had heard his name being called and he came running into the office where they often would have the parents in to talk about the kids. The family and the Director was surprised to see him there, when he was playing, but she introduced him to the Cohen-Changs, knowing that they shared the same ability as him. After a few weeks of paperwork, Gabe became a Cohen-Chang and started his journey to America. At first he didn’t like the sun in LA, but over time he grew to love it. Gabe knew what the sun could do to his powers and to him personally, so he didn’t stop the aging process until he went to Oregon for business school. Then he transferred to MIT to finish his degree and continued there to get his masters.

Gabe has been in NOLA for about five years ever since he graduated from MIT with his masters and owns the club, Black Iris, a club named after one of his few mistresses that he had while vacationing in Europe. He’s really proud of how the club had turned out.

Gabriel or Gabe, doesn’t use his powers as much, but whenever a human tries to sneak into the club, he uses them to make sure that they don’t get themselves in a sticky situation and puts them into an early grave or makes them crave that hunger. So far, the business has been booming and quite honestly, he’s happy about how things have turned out for the club.

Hunter grew up in an extremely privileged household, He was taught from the beginning that because of his family and who his dad was, he was superior to most if not everyone. For the most part he didn’t question it. He still doesn’t, apart from certain times after a human puts up a particularly good fight, for a human anyway. He can’t imagine voicing these thoughts though, so he pushes them and really any doubts about the NWG to the back of his mind. As the son of the Mayor he had an important image to uphold and he couldn’t show even the slightest hint of doubts.

While his telepathic aren’t as strong as his sisters his talent came from blocking others out, he doesn’t even have to really try to hide his thoughts, in fact most of the time he’d have to make an effort not to, not that he usually does. There’s a select few people he’d ever even consider letting hear what he was thinking.

Hunter was always pretty reserved as a kid and that’s continued to now, he doesn’t like to draw attention to himself and his family. It’s easier for him to keep up the family image if he’s hardly noticed. He has a very small circle of people that he trusts enough to actually be around willingly, otherwise he just kind of… exists. Most people in the night world recognize him as the mayor's son but that’s really it.

The only person he would ever put himself at risk for is his sister. He’s been fiercely protective over her since they were kids, often times taking the blame for things she had done, making sure their parents favored her over him, he’d do anything to make her happy.

Unlike most of the people around him he never developed the habit of playing with his food, he found it unnecessarily cruel and would much rather a quick kill. and despite clearly having the mindset of being above humans he didn’t take it to that level himself, but he also has no issues with it being done, it’s just a personal preference.

Penelope Eloise Crane was born Penelope Eloise Pierce to a family of witches, something she wouldn’t find out until well after her formative years. At the ripe age of two weeks old she was adopted by Eleanor and Stephen Crane, wonderful humans who were tasked with the responsibility of raising Penny as normal as possible, but Penelope never made that easy on them. She was constantly drawn to the occult and the underground subculture she constantly found herself in. No matter what her parents tried it was like Penelope had a calling and she wasn’t going to ignore it.

When she was eighteen Penelope’s birth parents prepared to send her off to university, but not before telling her the truth about her birth right and subsequent adoption. She didn’t really flinch at the notion that she might be a witch, in fact, the concept excited her. She moved to New Orelans with dreams of getting a degree and finding some kind of biological connection. She was only a few months into her Junior year when she was attacked one night walking back to campus from the French Quarter. When she woke up she found that she had killed her roommate in her haze and after disposing of the body she kind of disappeared into the wind, unable to cope with the sudden loss of her human life.

After two years of living more or less on the streets she decided it was time to return to the world of the functioning supernaturals and that’s how she found herself back in New Orleans, registering at the same university where her life had forever changed and charged with a new mission to locate a girl she had heard whispers about, Brittany Pierce, her sister.

Harper has always lead an incredibly privileged life. She’s grown up knowing she was superior to the vast majority of people around her and she isn’t afraid to show it. With her daddy as mayor, what’s she got to be afraid of? With that in mind, she’s more than happy to show the lesser citizens of the Night World exactly where they belong, right under one of her shiny heels.

Even for a lamia vampire, Harper has unusually strong telepathic abilities. When she was a baby, they were so strong she would sometimes cry for hours because she had no way of controlling the onslaught of other people’s thoughts and feelings in her head. These days, she mostly keeps that power under wraps because using them too much can take a lot out of her, physically, but when she does use her powers, if you don’t have an incredibly strong mind shield up, you’ll be hard-pressed to hide anything from her. Her mental abilities also mean her powers of influence are stronger than the average vampire, something she relishes in.

Despite the fact that the Claringtons have a disdain for humans and everything they stand for, they still had to fit in, and in true Clarington nature, be the best. So Harper became naturally drawn to dance and music, and invested all her spare time into becoming the best she could possibly at dancing, specifically in ballet, and piano, so even if humans don’t know about her proud pedigree, she has something else to rub in their faces. Not many of them have the talents she has.

Harper is incredibly self-centered, but if you manage to earn her trust and loyalty, she’ll kill for you. Right now that’s a very small circle of people: her family, especially her twin, Hunter, as well as a couple close friends.

When she’s not busy playing with her food, or hanging out at Black Iris, she can be found spending a heinous amount of money on new clothes. Harper loves shopping: it’s just one more way she can show the world she’s better than most everyone around her.

- Santana is anything but blind. She’s never been oblivious to her sister’s lack of assertiveness. While she’s always hard on her sister, it’s because she loves her and want to help her to grow thicker skin. If anyone were to lay a hand on her little sister’s head, Santana would break it immediately. Unfortunately she hasn’t always been able to protect Sofia and she beats herself up about it a lot.

- Always a little confused about her sexuality, it wasn’t until like a year ago that she came to terms with the fact that she preferred girls. Santana would spend a fun night with just about anyone that has a nice body or that she has sexual tension with, but she never fell in love. For a long time she just accepted that commitment wasn’t her thing, but in reality it was because Santana only felt emotional attraction towards girls. Since then Santana has grown more comfortable in her sexuality, but her extended family doesn’t exactly feel the same.

- After Sofia’s kidnapping, the Lopez family promised to keep their mouths shut in the community. While Santana doesn’t have full-fledged opinions on what’s going on, she definitely is angry with the way her family would just submit like that. The most fiery of her family members, Santana is pushing more and more to be seen and heard. She may not know the extent of what her little sister experienced and what the consequences of breaking her family’s silence, but Santana hates nothing more than to take a backseat and do or say nothing.

- Elaborating on this – Santana has no loyalty because she only believes in loyalty to herself and the ones closest to her. She was intelligent and she watched, listened, and learned. She learned by watching her father on the phone, in his office, in meetings speaking directly to the other elites. As a child, she listened instead of talked, and allowed her father to treat her like an absolute princess who could do no wrong. She constantly put on a sweet smile and charmed her way into getting anything she wanted, and she was smart and tactical about it so her father didn’t recognize just how much he had inadvertently taught her. Brooklyn never made a move without knowing exactly what her next four moves were going to be. She became excellent at reading everyone - humans, vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters alike, - excellent at faking emotions, and excellent at repressing anything that she deemed unacceptable. 

By the time Brooklyn was 16, she knew exactly how interesting it was to see just how much control she could have over one person or a situation. When she turned 17, she fell in love with a 24-year-old-appearing vampire named Carter. He was the first one besides Sebastian that she didn’t have to worry about having a mask on all the time with. It was fast, but seeing her potential and how well she worked and controlled people without even using her vampiric abilities, Carter took Brooklyn under his wing and showed her everything there was to know about the (albeit surprising) drug ring in New Orleans. Soon enough, Brooklyn was not just the daughter of one of the most powerful Lamia vampire families, but she joined Carter as two of the most powerful people underground at only 17. 

Things with Carter soon started to get messy. Brooklyn was never one to let things get entirely out of her control but her relationship with carter was quickly crumbling into chaos. He was a stronger and older vampire than her, and he somehow had reigned complete control over her. Carter was sadistic, and he had changed from the man Brooklyn first fell in love with. Brooklyn had let her guard down for him, and he used that to his advantage in such a way that Brooke didn’t know just how fucked she was. One day, Brooke realized she wasn’t in control of pretty much anything in her life anymore. She had lost at her own game and she was terrified. She would do drug transfers and went to meetings with Carter as his ‘loving, adoring wife’ who supposedly knew nothing about what the men in the room were talking about. She would sit and play her part, seducing men into buying from Carter, and god forbid they refused her advances and send Carter into a rage. And admittedly, she could handle it. The thing she couldn’t handle was not being in control. So Brooke was stuck - she wasn’t with her family, Carter had taken her out of New Orleans and isolated her from everyone she knew. 

Eventually she somehow managed to leave and has been living (see: hiding) at her parents’ ever since. No one knows about her relationship with Carter besides her family (and they only know bits and pieces), and she intends to keep it that way. She never thought about asking Sebastian for help because if there’s one thing Brooklyn cares about more deeply than anything or anyone else in the world, it’s her brother. So now, she plays the role of the perfect daughter and hopes every day that Carter doesn’t find her. She’s finally feeling like herself again, despite being a little bit a manipulative bitch.
