Yuletide Surprise
Ginny made sure that Sam and Dean wouldn’t spend another holiday in that bunker. Sure, it was home to them--it was home because they knew it was safe. But they never had four walls and a home. A home that wasn’t surrounded by six feet of concrete and steel and burrowed underground. And from the year that she’s known the Winchesters, family holidays were.. few and far between. How was that fair?
She got them out of the bunker, despite the two feet of snow falling outside, Ginny drove ahead to clear the path for Baby behind her--Dean not willing to leave her behind if this was going to be a family Christmas. Everyone had to be there. She only wished that she could do more to bring everyone back. Just for Christmas. However, after doing a little snooping, she found a small hoard of family pictures, and pictures of loved ones. Ones that she knows about. Jo, Bobby, Ellen, Mary.. John. She put something big together for them. And it was the biggest present under the tree yet. Mixed with things she hoped that Sam and Dean would want, and like.
Sure, they decorated the tree together, but..that was it. That was all she could get them to do. So, while they slept, she put out all of the presents, and continued to silently decorate the rest of the house. Winding lit garland around the staircase, putting up lit wreaths.. the whole nine. She barely slept that night. Peppermint flavored coffee was the only thing keeping her from passing out as she played Santa for the brothers. However, catching a quick catnap did help. She did have a very long day ahead of her, but she wouldn’t mind it one bit. She knew it would be worth it in the end. Once she set the last, very important present under the tree, cooing a little at what was inside, she broke away to make a fire in the fireplace when she knew that Sam and Dean would be getting up.
