Ode to Bagels
The bagel is a wondrous piece of bread
I don’t know where they come from, but they’re swell
A tasty treat for any with a head
And probably a mouth would help as well
The bagel is quite wonderful when cut
For your convenience when you’re spreading spreads
Some think that bagels aren’t yummy, but
They’re really the most marvelous of breads!
Use cream cheese, butter, lox, and many more
To make your bagel flavorful and nice
And getting bagels isn’t such a chore
When most sell for a reasonable price!
So grab a bagel - what the heck - grab eight!
And realize what makes them truly great!
