Why do you think Kol went through with finishing the dagger that can kill Klaus? Especially after all the progress the siblings made in 2x13? Kol obviously saw how much Klaus cared for him from his speech on not killing him and sacrificing himself for the spell... And now Davina, who hates Klaus and knows nothing about Klaus' nice moments toward Kol, is in possession of a weapon that can kill him. If she forms an alliance with Freyinn...

Honestly, not to mean, but that dagger gives Davina a purpose this season. Plus, Kol loved her, so it makes sense that he would finish his life's work and give the girl he loved what she wanted right before he died.
