Lookit! He’s EATING.
Still some flotation issues, but he’s definitely getting better! He had the energy to bite my finger when he realized I didn’t have food!
there he go
This is Bailey as of March 16, 2018. He seems a tad more active, he ate a bit this morning, two NLS pellets. The almond leaves seem to be helping.
This is Bailey today (April 7th, 2018) right after his water change. He’s still not eating and he’s not very active, but gets startled at every sudden movement. He doesn’t freak out at random; usually when the dogs run in or I drop something, he panics for a moment before settling down. He didn’t used to care. If anything he’d come to investigate. I lifted Aiden up to see him and where normally Bailey would have gotten Real Pissed about it he just...idk. Stared.
Everything looks fairly normal except his mouth. I don’t think it’s ever been quite that...open? That’s new. It doesn’t look like anything’s coming out of it, I don’t notice any cottony growth or anything (unless I’m not noticing it PLEASE if you see something I don’t tell me).
One side of him also looks a little more swollen to me than the other. Not by much, but enough for me to notice. It’s the side under the leaf. I’ll try and get a better picture of him from above without the plant, right now he seems stressed from the water change and me shoving a camera in his face and keeps trying to hide so I’m going to leave him alone for a while. I have a video of what happens when I try to get him to eat, so I’ll be uploading that shortly, too.
I want to cry. It’s been too long since he’s had a full meal and getting him to eat anything at all is a struggle. It’s at a point where I’m considering euthanasia more than I was before. I haven’t given up hope, there are still a few things I’m going to try but if they don’t work...i don’t know. i just don’t know.
Bailey @ Bloodworms: gimme dat Spaghet

my perfect fin-son
he’s gotten worse. he won’t eat. he’s drifting to the bottom now more often than not and does nothing but hide under the leaf when i’m not near the tank.
