Balgowlah
Welcome to newborn baby girl Woods, born very late, 8th January 2025. We are expecting a name shortly once Elsie has been fully consulted.
We are now very much in moving on mode now. HK tomorrow, but even that feels part of the return mechanism to UK. It shouldn't, because we are looking forward to spending time with Liam and Almond there.
Today was spent doing last-minute things. The sun came out, and we took the opportunity to go down to Manly to get a few things and take a look at the beach for the last time until next year. The sea was pretty rough today, so the life guards simply closed the beach. It was great for the surfers; they were having a great time out there, everybody else, out! There is no pretence about stingers or sharks today. After heavy rain, things are always a little sensitive around the sewage outfall pipes, so that's almost an automatic closure notice. So, we took a last look at the beach, sea, took some photos, and left it all behind.
It's an early start tomorrow. The flight is late morning, so Mr Uber will lend a hand to deposit us at Manly Wharf in time for the 8 am. ferry.
We've had an absolutely fabulous time again in Australia and done some amazing things. It has made us realise there's still more to do. However, the trip isn't over quite yet. We still have a couple of days to look forward to in HK, which is a very different but exciting city.
ps. It remains wet, although not so much inside since the roof above our bedroom has a tarpaulin feature installed.
