Memories of light -
senjuokaasan / balsa-hime This one is for you, a small and simple gift, but finished with such a good timing!
I hope you like it, I tried to make it look very peaceful and lovely, but with a certain hint of sadness, just as I feel Reisui.
hope the light won't burn anyone's sensitive eyes out there ._.
"What's your story?"
"That’s a bit rude to ask of someone whose name you don’t even know," the white haired teen said with a small frown. The coffee shop was located deep within the bustling city, and Tobirama had picked it specifically because there hadn’t been many people in it, and he didn’t want to talk to anyone. His nerves were frayed, on edge, and he needed a good cup of coffee. He knew he had been unnecessarily snappy though, so he dipped his head slightly, taking a sip of the coffee that she had sat before him. "My brother flew me here to meet him."
And when he said meet him, he meant for the first time. Well, technically the first time. Tobirama was never really sure why he had been put in foster care, but he had been shuffled around for as long as he remembered. His brother had mentioned something about problems with their father, and them being unable to get him back, to even contact him. He wasn’t sure he bought it. He was wary by nature, and when Hashirama Senju had excitedly shot him an e-mail saying he was his older brother, he hadn’t believed it. But the elder man had provided plenty of proof and apparently wanted nothing more than to meet him. He had booked him a hotel and flew him out to this huge city. They were scheduled to have dinner together later that day, and when he felt more comfortable, he wanted to introduce him to the rest of their family.
Dear Mom,
I don’t know how to begin this. Everyone else has been easy, but you…
I didn’t know you enough to even deserve writing my feelings down. I remember little of how you looked, and your voice has all but completely vanished from my subconscious, and all I can remember is that pretty smile, and that you always made me tea, that is all, and—
I’m sorry. I’m doing this all wrong! This is supposed to be much more heartfelt, or at least not so much of a mess, and
Don’t mind that, Mother.
I miss you. After you passed, things changed a lot. Father became harder, more worn, tired, restless, and every day he had less and less of a reason to return from the war; but he endured, always to put food on the table for us, because you wouldn’t be very happy if he let your sons starve.
I made sure to help as well, tried to become the ‘mother’ they needed. I never, ever let them go hungry, and I made sure they had more of a reason to live than to simply die at war. I don’t think you’d have liked that either, but…
In the end, I was too young to take care of them. I…ran away a lot. From the responsibly. From the clan. From the yelling, the fighting, from my brothers, and I…
But I suppose you already know, because they’re with you now. Right?
Please don’t be ashamed. I was not the eldest son you dreamed of, surely, but there’s so much I have done, and I’ve made up for these mistakes, and I can’t wait to tell you all the tales. Of this village I lead — a peaceful shinobi village! — and of my friends, of my struggles, and…and I fell in love, Mother. It’s hard to believe, I know…but…well. I’ll just have to wait and tell you.
Not that much longer now. I’ll see you soon.
I love you.-Hashirama
