Levantine Okra Stew
Bamieh is the Arabic word for Okra, and this is what we refer to this dish.
It is a very popular homemade dish in the Levant. Almost everyone in Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria are familiar with it. It can be made vegetarian or with beef cubes. I love it. It is such a comforting dish. We usually eat it with rice.

(I made vegan bamieh a few days ago and it’s one of my favourites and so tasty and healthy and nom nom nommmm)(if you want to make this vegan I just use vegetable bullion instead of beef, and 2 bags of gardein beefless tips (sauté them first) instead of lamb and it makes a TON of food and you can easily eat off it for a week or more and you can also add your own veggies or potato and I’m sorry I just get really excited about bamieh, lol)
