Don't buy into the buying bullies
To be healthy, you don't NEED fancy and expensive gadgets. Let's start with your workouts...As a beginner working out, all you need is your own body weight, trainers and a soft surface for situps, stretching, etc...to protect your back, a camping mat would be enough. I even use a few towels when I work out on holiday. When you feel you're becoming dedicated, you can buy a yoga mat. You can make it a treat after your first 30 days! When you feel ready you can introduce small weights (300ml plastic bottles filled up with water). I'm at the point when I use 1.5kg water bottles as dumbbells and a 10kg door stopper as kettlebell. Now... in the kitchen...you don't need an apple cutter, a watermelon cutter, an avocado cutter, a strawberry cutter, a banana cutter or a tomato cutter....phew... a knife would do beautifully...we're in an age when we've realised we're producing more rubbish than our planet can cope with...surely you can cut your banana with a knife! ;) If you're on a budget, that's more money for something else and I've found that having only things in the house that I use regularly and that I use for more than one purpose is oddly rewarding and freeing (+ I know where my things are and don't waste time looking for them). We buy objects for comfort, we need to find that comfort within ourselves...NOT having the latest expensive gadgets in the kitchen does NOT make us bad cooks, HAVING them does NOT make us good cooks either...;) It's not about HAVING, it's about BEING!
