Since sixth grade, I’ve wanted to be an artist. More specifically, I’ve wanted to do concept art for animation. I love both CG animation and traditional, and I love the art that goes into making animated films, so I decided to apply to CVAD. I saw the Book of Life and it only made me want to do art for animation more. Then, towards the end of the year, I started looking around me at all the other art students, who drew in a much more realistic style, or were already getting commissions and started doubting my decision to be in art, or to even hope to do animation (after a terrible couple of competitions to boot). But then I remembered the Book of Life, how it was made, how you stuck with it, and now how awesome it is and how much people love it! It gave me confidence to stay in my major.
