I refuse to listen to it because I heard they stanned Rogers for most of S3 and I hate the devil's theory so now I'm really glad

I listened to their interviews with Jon Steinberg because he has such fascinating and thoughtful things to say, which led to me listening to the eps covering 409 and 410. So I missed the Rogers stanning, if there was any (ugh). I don’t exactly mind people examining the Devil’s Theory and its implications, I just expect someone who’s attempting a thorough investigation of the show’s themes to give equal weight to the other theory (what do we call that one? The Resurrection Theory? The Lovers Theory? The Good Theory??).

I saw on twitter that one of those ladies is writing a book about the show??? and now I’m Afraid

It’s possible that she plans on exploring new angles, if she thinks she has enough new stuff to say to actually write it in a book. I’ll reserve judgment until it’s out (or until someone on tumblr tells me more specific things they don’t like about the F/athoms D/eep interpretations).

I haven't read the book either but from ryomulus's blog posts you can see that he's quite biased in his writing as well as having some shitty opinions on Japanese WWII history and modern Japan because of his Choshu bias (wtf even dude), he also writes a lot of historical fiction without clarifying that it's fiction so I wouldn't count him as a reliable source on Bakumatsu history despite being one of the few English-language ones As long as it's properly sourced you may be able to get some facts from him but you'll have to interpret them yourself because he'll just use them to push his own agenda                 sorry for the long rant but to give you an actual example: he wrote a post on his blog called "In Defense of Japan's Wartime History" and seems to support Abe because his ancestors were from Choshu lmaooo
