Hero: Atropos, the Bane Elemental
I had the idea for this piece while listening to Dreamcrusher's Incinerator album, specifically Cathedral of Moths and Bane. While I had another sketch for the same hero, this one felt much more fitting. While we see Atropos as a kind of goofy creature, the DotA heroes would likely see them as something much more frightening.
"What are those flowers?" Atropa belladonna, the poisonous nightshade which Bane is named after. "What's with the design being so uncanny?" Bane's canon design is full of skeletal features and weird anatomy. I just turned it up to 11 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "What's the meaning of the text?" 'Rainada Har', one of Bane's voicelines while channeling Fiend's Grip -- which I accidentally mimicked with the second pair of arms. Going back to Incinerator, the fifth track feels very fitting for Bane, starting with an ethereal, almost dreamy atmosphere that eventually devolves into screeching.
