The Clawgrass II Openback Banjo peghead! Part of our Private Collection Series. This one is on its way to the customer who ordered it!

Tackhead banjo I built for my bestest friend in the world as a birthday present. It's pony sized, so like half the size of a standard banjo. Maple and purpleheart, and yes it's naturaly that purple. Gotoh tuners, recycled goatskin head from an old drum I repaired, Nylgut strings, walnut fretboard. The moon phase inlays are mother of pearl and ebony.

The case looks unfinished because my friend is going to paint and finish it herself, eventually.

Admiring the fine details of the Calico Banjo! Hand laid coral snake purfling and mother of pearl inlays, paired with the depth of honey amber stained curly maple wood 🌟

I mean.... who doesn't love cherry wood? The beloved Vega Vintage Star banjo is now also available in cherry which gives a bit warmer tone than the standard maple version, while still maintaining plenty of brilliance 🌟
