first of all. i apologize for my absence!! ive been going thru WAY too much therefor ive skipped focusing on these. my absence may continue for sometime till i know the worst of its over and im safe, but i do apologize for my absence.
on a better note. i have a firelocke playlist in the works, im slowly adding songs but soon hopefully ill link it. second, we had a harpy express stream today, and we got SO much firelocke content.

Pyros the prince for the blue kingdom, and Abolish is his closest, and most trusted knight. Abolish had always done whatever he could to ignore his feelings for the prince, not wanting to risk them getting in the way. plus- hed rather everything stayed professional between them.
Abolish had never been one to struggle with training but one day he noticed it was more difficult. He felt more tired, weaker, and just like he wasnt as capable as always. He had (barley) finished training that day while conscious, instead heading directly to rest after training. He hadnt noticed much that day- just more coughing than normal. Possibly just a simple cold- nothing he couldn’t deal with.
The next day was the same. He barley made it through training, heading straight to rest again. It felt unprofessional from him, but he physically couldnt do his job that day. Someone else could cover for him. He had noticed he was coughing more- small blood splatters scattered throughout coughs. Nothing bad. Nothing worrying. Right?
That night though he woke up- his throat and chest hurt. Worse than it had been the last two days. And the cough felt worse- harder, more painful. and like something was stuck in his chest. And after a bit he noticed something coming up with each cough- small colorful things. No larger than crumbs- but still noticeable. Maybe it was just his imagination. Or at least he hoped.
The next day was worse, he couldnt make it fully through training without being told to leave and go rest. Did he really look that bad? He left as told, going to rest again. He noticed the little colorful crumbs coming up each time he coughed again, now bigger. Worrying..
Along side larger colorful crumb things, he also noticed more blood. Was he getting super ill? It could explain the cough, and maybe some blood. But not the colorful crumbs.
Each day had him getting worse and worse, more blood, and more flowers. He had missed work for about 4-5 days now, and had barley been making it to training. He knew his trainer was getting worried, and he had heard rumors Pyro was getting worried. The prince had been getting worried about him? That was something- but he couldn’t linger on that thought long before he began coughing again, more of the colorful crumbs and blood coming out. He could finally see their colors- red, blue, and pinkish white. He couldnt tell what they would be- aside from flower petals. But why would he be coughing up flower petals..?
But they were the right shape and size of flower petals. And the right colors. But hes never heard of something like this before. Maybe hed visit the healer if it got worse.
And it did, It kept getting worse. It had been around 8 days since he started coughing. He hadnt gone to training since 2 days ago. Too weak for training (plus he had nearly fallen unconscious only 10 minutes in.. that was worrying.) Pyro had been leaving him alone thankfully. People had told the prince he was ill and giving him space, but a small part of him also yearned to see the prince again.
He had also noticed the colorful crumbs were flower petals. Now some growing to full on flowers. He couldnt tell what some of them were- aside from one. Forget-me-not’s. Why was he coughing up flowers? With blood too?
He was getting worried. Really worried now.
Day had passed again. Each day got worse and worse still. More blood, more flowers and now getting bigger. And every cough was more painful. His chest and throat constantly ached. A new type of pain hed never experienced. It had been about 12 days since he first started coughing. They were all full flowers now. Forget-me-nots still. But also red tulips, roses, and lillies. He was still confused and concerned. This wasnt normal. Far from normal.
Day 14 was finally when he had visited the mage. He had been originally planning to just visit the medic, but this wasnt some normal sickness.
He had been saving the flowers since day 12 to show the mage. Show them the blood and flowers. Which had gotten larger. Now stems on them. Forget-me-nots in bundles. Roses starting to have thorns. and the lillies and tulips also gettings stems. Why had he waited 14 days?
The mage had told it was something called “hanahaki”? He wasn’t sure. Something about repressed feelings. He couldnt pay attention, not when he was coughing up full flowers. But he had noticed hed start coughing when he thought about Pyro.. odd.
He had gone home that night, but he noticed the coughing was more often. More painful. It was getting more constant and even more blood came every time. He really had to get to the bottom of this huh..?
Day 16 was the first time hed vomited from it. Instead of coughing he was vomiting. And it was even more painful. The thorns from the roses were longer, sharper. more painful. He had also fallen unconscious at one point. But at least he was alone- no one had noticed him.
The next days were the same, more vomiting, coughing, blood, flowers, and coughing. Also falling unconscious more often. He wasnt sure if it was from the affect this was taking on his body, or the illness himself.
He had finally had someone check on him today- his trainer. Now worried. Its been nearly 3 weeks since he showed up, and he was still ill. Worse than ever. They had also had the medic show up, who had done nothing for him. He had given him some sorta herbal medicine that he had thrown up soon after.
It was useless.
He had also noticed the trainer had mentioned Pyro was worried and he had to walk off to vomit (nearly falling unconscious again). What had the mage said-? Something about repressed feelings causing this. Huh. Fuck.
Day 22 was finally when Pyro himself had visited- tired of being told to stay away from Abolish because he was sick. He was worried. His most trusted knight, gone for 3 weeks and only rapidly declining from what he had heard.
Unluckily for Abolish, he had been unconscious when Pyro had entered. Slumped against the wall with blood on his hands and on the flowers next to him. Pyro was immediately well- terrified. Seeing someone like that was bad, especially someone so strong.
He didnt call for the medic- not immediately. He needed to wake Abolish up. Shaking surprisingly worked. But the other looked bad. Pale, sick, and just so so out of it.
Abolish had woken up to Pyro infront of him. Worry clear on the others face. Fuck- the urge to cough immediately there as he felt the others hands on him and just seeing him there. He immediately went into another coughing fit- more blood, more flowers. He could feel Pyros grip tightening and could hear the other saying something- but it didnt reach his ears.
Everything hurt and felt distant. Something was wrong- his brain went through every option before finally landing on what the mage said. Hanahaki disease. Something that was caused by repressed feelings. And he had definitely repressed feelings for the prince infront of him. Did he need to tell the other how he felt? It would get between his work possibly. Or hed loose his job. He didnt wanna risk that. But it was that or he kept struggling.
His voice was weak and pained as he barley got the words out between coughs. He didn’t register what he said. Or what Pyro said. Both too distant from his worsening condition. But he could feel Pyros arms around him, and the coughing stop. Had the mage been true? Was this really all repressed feelings? Just because he liked Pyro and couldn’t say it?
hii, yet again so sorry for the absence. also very sorry for any mistakes. grammer, plot, timing, anything. this was written at 5am on no sleep, and i didnt go back and edit it. i AM making this a fic thougj, which will be much more in detail, correct, and just better all around. so sorry for how poor quality this is tho xx
