how come no one talks about Barbara being 30 (at least at the time she and Clark separated?) i don't get the impression we're supposed to believe they've been apart for 10+ years. no one wanna talk about the age gap? how old she might've been when they met? about how Clark is most likely an older man (his actor is 48) who decided to marry a younger woman in school, agreed to pay for her schooling, and then blamed her for those things while holding them over her head? no? just me? okay.

BACKROOMS (2026) SPOILERS

The interesting, yet sad thing is that, in the end Mary actually gets through to Clark. When Mary 'breaks character' he doesn't hit her (like some assume he did to Barbara from how she holds her head), Clark stops berating her, actually finds value in what she's saying, let's her go & tries to besweige the Captain that she's here to help. Not before admitting to himself that he's happiest, or more accurately the most soothed, right where he is. Then the Captain eats Clark (fitting for a Director who got his start making Attack on Titan™ fan animations), just as Clark ate the still lives. To self medicate his pain Clark consumed his memories, and the memories in turn consumed him. As above, so below.
