Had some thoughts about poly! Teens and comforting each other. Talked about this awhile ago on discord and felt the need to share them here too.
Eden goes to Steve because he listens to her vent without interrupting her. All while allowing her to paint his nails. She goes to Steve because as much as she pretends to hate it, she loves the way that he’ll take her into his arms afterwards. How he’ll wrap himself around her and say nothing when she starts to pick at the nail polish they just waited to dry for 10 minutes.
Steve goes to argyle because argyle is easy to be around when he’s upset. He doesn’t ask any question just welcomes steve with open arms and runs his fingers through his hair until Steve’s able to calm down enough to explain what has made him so upset.
Argyle goes to Robin because her rambling makes him feel a little less crazy. Everyone seems to handle all this crap with such ease (see the scene with the dead FBI agent) it’s nice to know he’s not the only one who’s freaked out by it. (They all are, robin’s just a little louder about it)
Robin goes to vickie because vickie is nice and calming, she’s all soft touches and “are you okay?” “How can I help you?”. Vickie makes Robin feel cared for in a way she doesn’t think she ever truly felt before.
Vickie goes to Nancy because Nancy is blunt in a way that makes her feel truly seen. She never has to worry about Nancy sugarcoating her words to make Vickie feel better. She tells it how it is and more often than not she bitches with vickie and tells her how she deserves better and she shouldn’t let people take advantage of her kindness
Nancy goes to Barb because no one else truly knows Nancy the way that she does. Barb is familiar and warm. She almost never has to ask Nancy what’s wrong because she seems to already know. Much in the same way that she just knows that Nancy just wants to vent while they sip at their hot chocolate.
Barb goes to Jonathan for the quiet. While she loves Nancy, she knows that Barb being upset would just make her want to go out and fight whatever made her upset, so Barb goes to Jonathan. He offers her companionable silence as they walk along a path in the woods and he takes pictures. The only words being spoken are her quite words of praise when he shows her one he’s especially proud of.
Jonathan goes to Eddie for the loudness. Sometimes he just needs background noise to his thoughts and Eddie is the perfect candidate. He’s always willing to talk about his campaigns or the new Dio song that came out to anyone that will listen.
Eddie goes to Heather, much to his shock. He wasn’t expecting it but Heather gives him a sense of normalcy. On the days that he thinks of the cold, grimy floor of the upside down, and the sharpness of the bats teeth as they tore into his skin, he finds he wants nothing more than to follow heather around like a lost puppy as she goes on one of her shopping sprees. He normally hates this but on these days it seems to be exactly what he needs to reassure himself that he’s alive, he’s here, and he’s shopping with Heather fucking Holloway. What the fuck
Heather goes to Chrissy because she’s soft in a way Heather rarely gets to be. Chrissy ushers heather into the bathroom so they can soak in the tub together. Afterwards, Chrissy will give Heather her softest clothes and start to eagerly brush through heather’s hair and massage her sore muscles. Chrissy pampers heather in a way she never thought she would allow. But Chrissy shows her that she’s not being high maintenance by wanting to be taken care of sometimes.
Chrissy goes to Eden because Eden encourages Chrissy to not be so soft all the time. She tells her that Chrissy is allowed to get mad and she’s more than allowed to tell people to “go fuck themselves”. Chrissy loves going to the top of a high hill with Eden and finally being able to scream about her hatred of her mother and how she’s sick of having to act like the perfect daughter.
