“How did...how did you...God...how did you know it was...it was Barbathos again?
“Wasn’t too hard to figure out. You barely looked like yourself, and the last time I saw you this bloodthirsty was during the Barbathos incident. Not to mention your escape method was just too...Scarecrow. Your vanity would never allow you to use another rogue’s methods.”
“So my...big ego...ah!...’sfinally doin’ me some good...”
“Don’t talk, you need to save your strength. After we get to the hospital, I’ll put you in touch with some people I know. I think Jason Blood might have some useful tips for you on repeat possessions.”
“Of all ‘a things to...get me...hadda be a d-demon. Sphinx’d be better...fit more.
...
Really thought you’d...you’d leave me there...”
“Never.”
When canon makes you twitchy, don’t get mad, make fanstuff! While still mad! Yeah, yeah, still getting used to using Painter and drawing digitally (nice yaoi hands, Bats). I do like how Eddie came out, though. I tried to make it obvious that he’s a lot smaller than his Barbathos-possessed/WoJaR drawn self, hence the too-large clothing and the severely tightened belt. I know he was drawn more muscley in the past but jeez, man.
Oh, Riddler...
As much as I always love to see Eddie-dear get more attention and respect, this new arc is...well wiser folks than I have already spoken up about all of the WTF involved. I will say though, my money’s on Barbathos-possession again. I mean, he doesn’t look like he normally does, he’s not acting like himself, I think Barbathos has brought his demon-ass back from comic book limbo. Probably not, but I like to think. Come on, people, Barbathos Riddler in the War of Jokes and Riddles. Spread the headcanon.
