Hey everyone so I just saw a post on @barbershopconnect that I didn't like at all. 😒 Let me start off by saying I fully support every barber, man or woman, that has a fire to do better in this industry. With that being said I am so over seeing women utilize photos of them dressed sexy while "working". Have you all ever noticed that when there are barber battles they have female divisions? First it's because they think we can't hold our own against the men. I'm calling it how I see it. But you want to know the kicker? The real truth? I have heard someone say "wow think of 20 women up on stage, tickets will sell out." They don't see you as a barber but as eye candy that makes money. Half of you won't even read this and you will bash what I say, who I am even though you don't know me and that's okay. But you WILL think next time what a dope/okay/terrible barber she is FIRST and secondly if she's cute or ugly. And that's what really matters. 😊 I am not against dressing sexy: do it for your spouse, on a girls night out or because you just felt like dressing up. But every time you value yourself only as much as your looks instead of your cuts they will remember that as your worth. As women we already have a hard time getting into a shop let alone having a client trust us with their hair. And if you haven't experienced that then you are damn lucky and should appreciate your #barberbrother s and clients even more. Talented women like @mariela_the_barber @ladyjaekutz and @lici_ladybarber have all told stories of their struggles and look how dope their work is! 🔥 So let's show them what we've got with our clippers and shears. Earn your place in this industry and gain respect because no man made his way showing his assets off except his kit. 💈 To the men who have supported their barbers or co-workers by using the hashtag #HerChairHisHair it has NOT gone unnoticed. You are the reason we even get a first chance and for that you are already some of the best men we could know. ❤ Goodnight, sound off below. Always, Cassie
