A very quiet year for the Gerberas (Gerbera jamesonii ) They are from South Eastern Africa and commonly known as the Transvaal daisy, the Barberton daisy, and as Barbertonse madeliefie or Rooigousblom in Afrikaans. I must have changed the conditions or this patch is getting old and needs to be divided because they are not flowering as well this year. Fairly easy to grow. Dead-head as needed and remove the dead leaves. A double form of Pink Gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii ) From South Eastern Africa and commonly known as the Transvaal daisy, the Barberton daisy, and as Barbertonse madeliefie or Rooigousblom in Afrikaans. Unlike the single red-orange form it’s double with no visible centre but is just as hardy. The third patch hasn’t flowered yet. Fairly easy to grow. Dead-head as needed and remove the dead leaves. If they get too crowded they can be divided. This is a simple form and very hardy. The fancy hybrids don’t seem to survive for me in the garden. Fairly easy to grow. Dead-head as needed and remove the dead leaves. If they get too crowded they can be divided. With all the rain this one seems more orange red than usual.
