he knows his siblings are currently exploring just how badly they fucked up in the 60′s. how they had changed the timeline so badly their own father hadn’t adopted them. but five doesn’t see an apocalypse so he doesn’t care. his family is alive and not about to perish and that’s enough for him. now, he can focus on his own shit. focus on finding out what the world has to offer. and the best person to ask has always been elsie.
five places a notebook down between them as he joins her table. in his other hand is the margarita he had poured himself. “ i’m going around everyone but thought i’d start with you. what... ” briefly, he pauses. being this vulnerable makes him uncomfortable but even he’s aware that without an apocalypse he has nothing more to offer or do. he’s lost. and that terrifies him a lot more.
after taking a breath to organise his roaming thoughts into some semblance of order he tries again. “ what is...what do normal people do? i mean, the world is very different from when i left and... ” his voice drops off again and he glares at the notebook like it personally has stabbed him despite him needing it. needing to make lists and create order in the chaos that is his mind. elsie has always understood and helped him slow down when his body has a constant need to keep going. “ i’m trying to make a bucket list. are those still a thing? ”
