The child swallowed hard as he stared up at the man who looked like his father but wasn’t him. It was the only real outward sign he allowed himself to make to show just how damn frightened he was, though the tail that was locked around his waist would have been another good hint.
“... my d-dad isn’t here. Sir.” And he dared one more glance before staring intently at the floor.
Goten knew who the man was. He was his grandfather, Bardock. But... He could count on one hand the number of times they had interacted. Bardock had preferred to hide himself away, and his father hadn’t done much to ingratiate himself with him either.
