Did I really just make an AMV of an objectively 6/10 movie with a song from one of the greatest musicals of all time? You freaking bet I did
The bar at Bardstown is awesome
Crown of Madness and the Neogi
A long time ago (or depending on your perspective, in the distant future) in a galaxy far, far away (or so close as to be overlapping)...
The Neogi empire was having a crisis. It was the kind of crisis that had been growing slowly throughout the span of Neogi history and, if allowed to reach its conclusion, would mean an abrupt end to their history books.
They were simply running out of good warriors to fight their wars. If a Neogi general wanted to take a hill, they’d keep sending brainwashed thralls until that hill became a mountain of corpses. To get more utility out of their remaining slaves, “Crowns” were invented to turn plodding zombies into whirlwinds of blades and fists.
Eventually, however, the empire fell and the Crowns began to decay until only their magic was left. Wandering the planes like plastic grocery bags. Because mages are loathe to throw magic away (even if it’s past its best-by date), the spell still exists today in many bastardized forms:
Crown of Hysteria: This spell causes the charmed humanoid to run up to their speed to a target of your choice and make a melee attack. Hit or Miss, this spell only lasts one round.
Consort Crowns of Madness: Allows you to target an additional creature for each slot above the 2nd. If two crowned creatures attack each-other, the attack is made with advantage.
Crown of Vengeance: Allows you to cast Crown of Madness as a reaction when you see someone damage a humanoid. While charmed in this way, the humanoid must start each turn by moving their full speed towards the creature who damaged them and making a melee attack.
Thorns of Madness: Whenever the target attempts a saving throw to resist this spell, they take 1d12 psychic damage before rolling. If they take more than 6 damage, the subsequent saving throw is made with disadvantage.
Crown of Peace: While charmed, the humanoid may not make attack rolls.
True Crown of Madness: Choose a willing humanoid who is wearing a crown made from plants from the Neogi home world. While the spell is active, you may use your action to force your charmed ally to move and make a melee attack against a creature of your choice. Doing so does not consume your ally’s reaction. (Thus, your ally is making twice as swings-per-round at the cost of your own action).
Bardstown Bourbon Company Discovery Series #4 🔥 🥃
My siblings and I visited Wickland in Bardstown a few years back when they had some very talented sisters who provided a walk through the old mansion and a sharing of the spirits they had encountered there with their special talents. They worked there in conjunction with a local historian and had provided information from the spirits there that were then researched and proven to be historically verifiable. During the evening walkthrough they stopped in various rooms to talk about some usual spiritual occupants of the house. Fascinating experience but then they let you walk through the home before leaving. My sister caught this photo on the steps there and we immediately tried to re-create it and could not do it. You can see my shadow but below that to the right of the photo there is a small flesh-colored "shadow" that we cannot explain and could not come close to capturing again.
