Hi, I'm so tired, I forgot to put coffee in the coffee maker this morning & brewed a pot of hot, vaguely coffee-ish water. 🙃 It's been A WEEK, friends. Shots for the babies. Minor surgery for the husband (he's fine). Oh, and A RAGING 112,000 ACRE WILDFIRE that's creeping closer and closer to us, and smoky conditions so bad, we can smell it inside our house. The wildfires in Oregon, California & Washington are SO BAD, ya'll. I live in a sepia-toned world right now. Please please please, let us get some rain soon. . . I am escaping the wildfire doom-scrolling by reading a bit this morning before the babies wake up. I just started YOU HAD ME AT HOLA (which is wonderful so far), but I binge-read the Bareknuckle Bastards books earlier this summer, and let me tell you, they were a delight! I have a hard time reading historical romance most of the time, but these books worked for me on so many levels. They are perfect, romantic escapism. Swoony, sexy, and populated by just a fantastic cast of characters. . . Once I finally got an actual pot of coffee to brew this morning, I poured it into my current favorite mug from @sjwonderlandz ... I also have this design on a matching bookmark! I usually struggle so much with getting into historical romance, but I was just in a particular mood recently, and so I decided to finally dive into @sarahmaclean's Bareknuckle Bastards series. Friends. It is delightful. I've been binging the series these last two weeks, and these books are so entertaining. Making time to read right now is hard, but I look forward to every moment I'm lost in this world. I'm hoping to finish DARING & THE DUKE, the third and final book, later today.
