Black Dogs (or Bargest (or, like, a million other names that it's known by)) is actually quite popular in pop culture. Harry Potter has one, The Darkness made a song about it, it's arguable that they're in Supernatural (though those are more hell hounds than black dogs I guess), they were an inspiration behind a Sherlock Holmes book Considering its kind of an unknown thing, or at least something I don't see many people talking about, Black Dogs are pretty well used
