Barling "Marylebone – Ye Olde Wood"
The Barling brand is one of the most traditional and respected pipe manufacturers in England. Barling was founded in London in 1812 and gained its reputation primarily through its excellently crafted briar pipes, which are still highly valued by pipe smokers and collectors today.
The name "Marylebone" refers to the London district of Marylebone, where the Barling company was originally based. This series therefore honors the historical home of the brand and at the same time represents the classic English art of pipe making.
The addition "Ye Olde Wood" is a traditional term that Barling used early on. It means "the old wood" and refers to the use of particularly high-quality, long-seasoned briar wood.
