#starzblacksails#blacksailsedit#bsflint#bsbarlow#barlowflint#bsgif#bss2misc#by anationofthieves#gif:blacksails#gif:flint#gif:barlow#gif:bss2misc#bss1misc#gif:bss1misc#bsdetail#I have absolutely no idea what I wanted to achieve with this (also I'm afraid I missed some scenes I'm not sure? :p )#but these two and their relationship with books - also their relationship developing through books ''guiding'' them#for example think how much james was shaped by them - we know he was a cultured man before he met the hamiltons#ut I doubt he had the same relationship with books as the one he learns to develop under thomas and miranda#I bet it was not so intimate and profound - not to mention how books are used as vehicles to convey their feelings to one another#but not because they lack in communication - at least not when thomas was alive - it's just natural for them to ''speak'' through them#(I fear though after what has happened things changed a lot-just look at james's decision-conscious and/or not-to shut himself#and resulting inability to build a healthy relationship with anyone [yes I believe good communication is required for it]#not even with miranda - maybe with her there is almost no need because they know each other so well#but until this second season it seemed there were things he was still holding to her - even if he has opened up more recently)#I also wonder if through books they wish to find some sort of ''legitimacy'' for their emotions and their opinions?#fuck how do I explain this - as I feel empowered by finding out that someone has written something which I feel I can relate to#or at least I find comfort in knowing I'm not alone in feeling or thinking in a certain way and I feel less lonely#I wonder if this applies to them too-because most of the world just don't understand them they are always in search for someone who does
