Casual affections #1
Prompt: smiling at each other from across the room (from here) A/N: Apparently this burnout from real life is affecting me more than I thought, and I can’t focus much - but I wanted to badly to write just ANYTHING. So, guess I’m gonna start slowly with just drabbles - I’m a bit sad but real life is not being merciful and well many things to do. I can’t promise daily updates but I’ll try to scribble and get back my creativity!

Casual affection #3
Prompt: laying their hand on the other’s leg (from here) A/N: A smol drabble/sequel to Siúil a Rún super important note: “-” are THOUGHTS, «-» are SPEECH (SUPER important since Aisling and Barnaby communicate through Legilimancy, or better, she listens to him and he hopes she can hear him OKAY) Previous drabble | Next drabble

Casual affection #2
Prompt: randomly texting a gif or emoji (from here) A/N: Second drabble! No phones in Hogwarts, but there are owls 8D Enjoy!

30 Day OTP Challenge: Bath
A/N: WELL WELL WELL hello there again! I’m more or less back with my writing even if my studies and researches are keeping me really busy, and July has been a really tiring month so I could not be as productive as I hoped! But here I am, going on with the 30 Day OTP challenge! I can’t say I will be updating daily, but I’ll try to post some short vignettes every week! A more Hemingway-eque style, lots of unsaid, many references from Aisling’s profile and past stories!
. . ☘️ . . B - Bath. The otp+ share a bath or shower, or bathe as in swimming or sunbathing. . .
Spring 1996
It was nice – Aisling had to admit it. The dim light in the room was calming, the water was pleasantly warm, the scent of roses and wildflowers lingered ever so lightly in the air and the steam – the mirror and the windows were covered by a thin layer of drops. It was almost hypnotic. The Irish girl lifted her right arm from the water, watching those little droplets gracefully and silently fall, shine under the golden light in the room, or quickly slide on her skin, on the now-bluish bruises matching the tattoo on her left arm.
Get ready xD
For the oc asks 🍒🔥📙 🍋 💙🔮🌸
Woah there, thank you so much for sending these! From .this. ask game
🍒 What kind of things do they expect from their relationships? Does this differ between platonic relationships and romantic ones? Is your OC “demanding” or a door mat? What kinds of things do people expect from them in a relationship?
This question is really interesting! Aisling is not one to impose something, and does not want to force others, but... ah, sometimes she totally needs reassurances. She won’t tell her s/o if she feels she is being too pushy or needy, but she’d wait for them to understand, or perhaps sense something is wrong. She’d expect loyalty and honesty: she’s all about talking and trying solutions and having different opinions - she hates fighting. She is really good at compromise! I believe people expect the same things from her: honesty, perhaps her being a bit more open and free to express her emotions and not bottling up until she’s about to explode. I don’t think this changes between platonic and romantic relationship~
🔥 Give us a list of general likes and dislikes, such as colours, textures, music, weather and other stuff!
Likes: sweets, cloudy and rainy days, cold days, winter, night, silence, the smell of rain in the forest, flowers and books, music in general, dancing. Dislikes: too much sunny and hot days, noise, summer, crowds, dealing with her emotions, spiders
📙 What kind of subjects (of conversation, of discussion, in school or whatever) does your OC find interesting or engaging or that they can talk for hours about? What kind of stuff do they just find fun?
She’d annoy the hell out of people speaking about history and mythology and Ireland. I swear. She’s so into her culture, she knows so many things and she’s so curious. It’s almost contagious! Also, she loves sharing fun facts about history and such. She’d also love to share opinions about classes. But don’t talk to her after a test, she’d be so nervous and would think “omg I messed up”.
🍋 Does your OC act petty and jealous easily? What sort of things make them feel like this and do they experience guilt for getting so worked up? How do they deal with these emotions when they get them? If your OC doesn’t feel like this often, why not?
She is actually really good at handling this, since she does not really like to show her emotions. But she also trusts her s/o with all her heart - trust is both her strength and weakness, I think. But if the situation makes her feel too bad, she’d decide to talk with her s/o - she’d be so ashamed, but she’d try to tell and express her feelings and her doubts. She is kind of cute when she is like this, eheh.
💙 What did your OC want to be when they grew up and why? Did they have any lifelong dreams or ambitions they never got to work on or are they currently working to achieve this dream? Has their life taken a very unexpected turn and put all these plans on hold for a while or have they given up on any dreams?
Ah, Aisling at first wanted to be a druid like her mama! When she understood she was not entirely druid (but just a half-druid) she was heartbroken, but accepted to be mathair’s clever and small assistant! As she grew - she felt curse-breaking was her mission and her destiny. First, when she dealt with the Vaults, and then when she started her career. Yes, she became a pretty good curse-breaker, and a proper archaeologist too!
🔮 Star gazing or cloud watching? Hand-holding or snuggles? Early mornings or late nights?
Stargazing or cloud watching? Stargazing: she is a night owl and loves looking at the sky! In helps her relax, and she likes the nocturnal quietness. Hand-holding or snuggles? Okay, this one is difficult. I mean, she is quite private when it comes to this - I think she’s prefer snuggles? When she’s alone with her s/o. Early mornings or late nights? Absolutely late nights. I mean, she can wake up early and does not need any help to wake up, but gods she hates waking up early. She enjoys way more late night hours.
🌸 What does your OC’s voice sound like? Their laugh? Are they good at singing? Do they have an accent?
Ah, I love this one, eheh. Indeed Aisling has a really thick Irish accent, and I’ll tell you more: she speaks more Gaeilge than English (especially when she gets mad, that’s why in the end Barnaby too will start speaking Gaeilge. In Hogwarts she is basically forced to speak English but trust me, in her mind she speak only Gaeilge. Her laugh... ah, her laugh is really cute, not too high-pitched not too low, and not annoying at all. She tries not to laugh too much since she is so self-conscious about this, but she actually sounds really cute! Is she good at singing? Damn yes she is. It has been really hard to think of a voice claim for her, since I wanted to search for an Irish actress: this is actually still an on-going process, but imagine her voice sounding something like Anna Popplewell’s and Danielle Galligan’s voice. Especially Danielle, when I found out she is Irish I was like OMG.
30 Day OTP Challenge: Age
A/N: WELL HELLO THERE CLOVERS. I decided to come back with a challenge I left in my likes for sooooo long. I’ll use it as a warm-up, to try to remember HOW TO WRITE AGAIN. Not much editing - we die like heroes LOL
. . ☘️ . .
A - Age. Do the otp+ plan on spending their lives together? How do they imagine their relationship years from now? . .
“Come the morn she goes The taste of her remains And in my mind, I see us sway Sway as we kiss.“
Barnaby’s fingertips traced with utmost care the vegvisir tattooed on Aisling’s back, before her bare skin disappeared under the soft fabric of her flannel shirt. The sound of her chuckle still echoing in the room (“stop it, it tickles!”), vanishing as the trembling flames of the candles, with a soft puff of air: all it took was a quick flick of Aisling’s wrist. (Her bracelets tinkled, and it was dark again.)
.Siúil a Rún.
A/N: I’m sorry for you all, my little clovers, but I am so excited to be back with my writing, and I really hope I’ll be able to write even more in the next month! (But don’t trust me, grad school life can be... full of unexpected events.) Bringing some more BarnAis content because I missed them so much, and I’m planning so many things at the moment!!! Everything I’ll be posting in the next months won’t be in chronological order because I am messy like that and inspiration dictates what I must write~ For now, I hope you’ll enjoy this little thingy ;; Also, let’s play the game: see elef inserting druidic magic and prophetic dreams and legilimency and failing (And another detail that you will have to find out mhmh)

Winter 1996
That night, Aisling could not sleep well. Tossing and turning impatiently, huffing and furiously clawing the blankets with growing frustration - her nightmares were made of dark woods and heavy grey fog and long obscure shadows chasing her, grasping and scratching and gnawing. She turned to her right side, dizziness and exhaustion from the vivid dream almost waking her up. Barnaby voice calling for her, distant, filled her mind with agony and despair, like the shrill of a banshee - her face would lean against the pillow, and then press into it to quiet out the heart-wrenching sound. “Please, go away, go away, go away.” Green and red flashes blinding her eyes, the crackling noise of splintering wood, the loud and booming crash of as a tree stirred her from her slumbering state. A soft groan escaping her lips, she slowly rolled to her left side, brows furrowing as she brought her knees to her stomach, hands pressing on it. “Go away, go away, go away.” In her drowsiness, she heard light steps (a pleasant warmth unconsciously spreading in her chest over the icy cold that had her tremble in her troubled sleep); a fuzzy feeling would slowly fill her mind as the screeching sound of screams faded. A kiss on top of her head, soft as feather. Then the gentle, slow brush of fingers on her arm. Aisling could hear Barnaby’s voice in her mind once again, this time calmer. “Mo chroí.”
