I know this show got canceled years ago but what the fuck did they do to the bobs in insatiable
that was like, the perfect plot, the perfect story and rep for a gay ship. (enemies to lovers (healthy), coming out/being outed experience, being in love since they were teens, dealing with divorce and trust issues with their children (which is super important to me and other children of divorce!!) etc etc).
but noooooo, bob a just had to get back with coralee because all of that meant nothing except for realising he’s bi. as a bisexual, yeah no I didn’t like that. I heard about the show’s biphobia and thought ‘’maybe it isn’t that bad’’ but tbh it’s bad. like the build up was so good and they really looked like they loved each other so why not end up together after all that.
and also when coralee joined I feel that was just shitty poly rep. I’m not polyamorous, but I imagine if I was I’d be pretty fucking bummed that the rep I got was short lived and overall an unhealthy relationship. neither coralee or bob b truly liked the idea of it so I think I’d be pissed off. like didn’t coralee literally say she finally felt free to explore who she was without bob?? I felt like that was so important to her character, I feel she should’ve ended up single and worked out who she was :(
and bob b with patty’s mum just came out of no where and was ALSO bad queer rep. he literally said over and over again that he felt so free coming out of the closet after living a lie for so long?? he loved bob a since he was 14 ffs!!
this had so much potential but damn, I guess we can’t have proper queer rep without it being fake all along
