not a day goes past where i don't think about how much i love the depth of henry and hans' bond. romantic or platonic, it's undeniable that they love each other. they would lay down their life for the other without a second thought, because to do otherwise is unthinkable. it's a relationship built up from the ground that feels real, believable in a way i haven't seen written in years. these are two characters that can stand on their own but end up orbiting each other as if the most natural place to be is by the other's side.

durin' one of his regular chatterin' sessions, soap finds out that ghost's only "permanent" residence home-side is near manchester - he doesn't know what happened before ghost became ghost, but he knows it was bad

[movin' somewhere new means building a new life and bringin' simon riley - under that name or a different one - back into existence, and ghost doesn't know how to do that]

soap decides that is the opposite of okay with him. so he drags ghost home with him, and very, very patiently watches as ghost relearns how to be simon riley, tentative and unsteady, while soap shows him around edinburgh. it's not perfect, because trauma of that magnitude doesn't just go away after a couple of dates - they're not dates, they're just coworkers helping each other out, it's fine, soap has a handle on this - but progress is progress

it becomes a tradition, too. any time they're both home-side, soap makes space for ghost to stay for a little while. sometimes, the others come too, callin' soap selfish for not lettin' them crash on his couch like ghost does, and it's good - a little safehaven for the 141 on the fringes of scotland

blacked out this morning, and i've written almost a thousand words of a henry/zizka angst fic

post-hansry split, set over several years leading up to the hussite revolution, where miscommunication is key. it's already several hundred words of them hurting their own feelings and we've barely started. it's almost impressive how they're managing to have two separate conversations at all times

continuation on my "soap believes in ghosts" bullshit:

who knows how it got leaked, but once certain members of the 141 found out about soap bein' a superstitious bastard, they were merciless. downright bullies, quite frankly

soap once lost his shit because his things kept gettin' moved around without him touchin' it, and he would not shut up about the place bein' haunted

actually, it was gaz and roach taking it in turns to fuck with soap's stuff, because watchin' him lose his marbles was the best entertainment they'd had all week. price told 'em to knock it off, but they only stopped when ghost threatened to kneecap the both of them
