lila usually does a remarkable job of keeping her hands to herself ; but sometimes, sometimes, the occasion is too fine to ignore. besides, stealing from a thief doesn’t seem as morally reprehensible as something unprompted. her childhood has taught her to look over her shoulder, pick out the dangerous ones from any crowd, and the boy’s bad leg is not enough for her to shake the feeling that she’d be a fool to turn his back on him. as a fellow pickpocket, she can appreciate the art that goes into the nonchalant swipe of his hand, the way his mark - a teacher she doesn’t know, or perhaps an assistant - doesn’t seem to notice a thing. but she too has light fingers — and enough smugness to wait until the boy's brow crinkles in a frown as he pats his pockets to clear her throat, holding up an ornate golden watch. ❛ looking for this ? ❜
