▌█ ∵   ♥   ∵ █ ▌  ❝Hey---- look at me.❞ Closing her laptop she moved across the couch and placed a hand on his cheek. It was quiet tonight, seems like things were just off with everyone, for her it was simply because of stress from being back up on audio files and their server for uploads crashing. For a moment guilt radiates across her body, maybe she had missed something so caught up in the case, the research she was doing on the town in general. But, this was serious, these things whenever he said them it was a wall coming down but also, concerning in general.  ❝Whatever happened today, whatever makes you think that--- you’re still here and you’re still a good person.  ❞ Lightly pulling his head towards her Mallory pressed her lips lightly to his forehead.   ❝I mean, you piss ghosts and urban legends off but outside of that---- I can’t recall a time since we started working together that you have done anything that is gonna get yourself hurt. Are you okay?❞

I would die for these guys. Dee, Sunny D and Magnus are like my closest friends. I struggle a lot with my anxiety and making mallory and eve was a process because i stepped out of my comfort zone. Before I made them I had only really talked to magnus but I opened a door on one of my blogs and Sunny D and Dee came running. I now have one of the most complex and beautiful characters because of these guys and the lore we created together is so incredible I love it. I love these guys more than anything and I am so glad they are here and we write together. I love the relationships we created. Each of their characters are so important to Mallory and each of them are so important to me. Not only are they all the most kind and caring people but they are understanding and considerate. They are the type of people that the world needs more of and the type of people that you know you want your friends to be like. I honestly love them so much and I am so glad that they put up with me and mallory and especially my trash fire baby eve. I have never felt so connected and attached to a blog, and i contribute that, and this blog being a safe place because of these three beautiful human beings.

▌█ ∵   ♥   ∵ █ ▌  Quietly she lifts her tape recorder to her mouth.  ❝Every other time he has done this I ended up being pranked.❞ She whispered just enough for the recorder to hear. Taking a deep breath she lowered it before narrowing her eyes and staring at him.  ❝I swear to God Vincent Tennyson if I come over there and you scare me I am breaking up with you and firing you!❞ She shouted before collecting herself grabbing her flashlight and heading towards him. The likelihood of him actually catching something or finding something were slim especially considering he really loved playing it up on cases with as dark backgrounds as this one.  ❝If I die tonight you guys will know exactly why and who is responsible.❞

▌█ ∵   ♥   ∵ █ ▌  Arms are crossed as she leans back in her chair. Mallory shakes her head with a small scoff before letting out a sigh.  ❝I can't do this if you aren't honest with me. I can't keep letting you lie to me.❞ He has trusted her with a lot but this is different. Something is off, he isn't telling her something and she is smart enough to see it. He always gets like this around this time of year but she can't do it this year.  ❝If you can't tell me fine. I'm done trying I just wish that I was enough.❞ Shaking her head she stood up grabbing her keys and leaving her desk. A careful step to him, toe to toe before stepping past him.  ❝You and Jude can handle this weeks case on your own. I can't this week I have enough going on without this and I'd like for our jobs to at least not suffer because we are.❞

▌█ ∵   ♥   ∵ █ ▌  She stops. In fact she completely freezes at his words. They had good ups and heavy downs and for just a split second she thought they had found a middle ground. Mallory closes her eyes for a moment before walking to him and pressing her hands against his cheeks. A gentle but firm tilt down to better look at her. It is rare that she lets herself feel completely everything she means to, completely let herself feel an emotion all the way through. But she can't let herself become cross or brash when she says these words to him. Because he could never ruin her life, and he never had even in the tragic and bad moments. Everything was good in her life because of him and Jude, he made her brave and fearless. But most importantly he brought her happiness and to be truthful after her parents died happiness was always a momentary feeling, a second in a week, a moment in time but he made happiness feel like an eternity.

❝You could never ruin my life. You could walk me to death's door and I would let you because every second you love me is a second I feel like something in my life is finally good and right.❞

▌█ ∵   ♥   ∵ █ ▌  ❝I just don't want to add more to your plate.❞ Her words are soft not looking up from her computer. Glancing up only for a split second not to him but to the door. She's looking to make sure Jude isn't here, can't overhear them. She isn't sure why really, it wouldn't matter if he did or didn't but maybe she is more afraid of her own feelings than anything else. Her brother being used as a scapegoat if any questions were asked. She doesn't want to say she is pretending because if she opens up it will probably make her feel a lot more for him and she has to keep a boundary. She needs to keep something so that this doesn't destroy everything. It could be beautiful, but it could also completely ruin everything they worked on and she could lose the second closest person to her. ❝Look, its nothing you have worry about. I don't know why you would think it is. It's just you know, close to that time of the year again so I'm not sleeping much since Jude has been out the last couple of nights and the house has been empty. You can’t fix that. No one can fix it so it isn’t something that really needs to be shared.  ❞

▌█ ∵   ♥   ∵ █ ▌ Her hand rests on the door, unsure if she wants to open it or not. He is so lucky sometimes she wonders if he realizes it. Through everything, every single thing he has ever done to her, good or bad she has forgave him, she has loved him and she knows its probably not the best but this was different. It is always different when it comes to looking into her family and he crossed a line. Sure, he knows he did and once they both had their time to calm down he is here but its not fair. It's fair that he can have all that he does, maybe its selfish and rude to think like that, he has his own problems but he doesn't understand what this is like. He doesn't understand what it means and if she has to die to get answers she will happily do so with his approval or not. This wasn't his choice and he needed to realize he couldn't control everything Money could by a lot, but it would never buy her. Not with this.

 ❝Go home Vinnie. And take tomorrow off Jude and I can record Beyond without you this week.  ❞ Simple words before looking to the light switches lightly pressing it to turn off the light on the front steps of the house.   ❝If you still have your keys to the office I left your stuff in there so feel free to take that with you.❞

▌█ ∵   ♥   ∵ █ ▌  Breath caught in her chest, hands shaking before suddenly he is there. She feels anxiety and panic but below that deep down and as soon as this is over shes going to feel guilt. He shouldn't have to deal with this to deal with her. Sometimes its the smallest things, or the smallest sounds and suddenly everything around her crumbles. He went to run a shower and a simple commercial has her on the ground in a panic. Its silly but some things put her back into the bare feet of a child watching her mother die and seeing her family carried out in body bags. The second he is there the second his words are reaching her the gravity of where she is now, how long its been is starting to come back but there's still the shaking and crying. Her hands raise to his features lightly touching them. Although the warmth he radiates brings life back to frozen fingers she still feels like she is completely drowning in memories. It feels like years in reality it is only minutes before she full is embracing him. Pulling him into her physically bringing herself back to the now that she nods her head. 

❝I'm sorry. ❞ She whispers. Before letting him go from what was probably a suffocating grasp. Taking a few deep breaths, looking past him to count a few things, remind herself of where she was before closing her eyes.   ❝The TV, it was playing a commercial and I--- sorry. I didn't mean to ruin the morning.❞ A habit she had, ruining things and it was such a tragedy because she knew sometimes it wasn't her fault like this but it always was connected to her. She in some ways thought of herself like the plagues because of it.
